    To be clear, I think the UK government's demands are misplaced; thinking that the solution to trash propaganda is to give privileged position to approved domestic news outlets is certainly a recipe for enforcing the status quo via hypernormalization. But Youtube is presenting itself as a dumb pipe which it very obviously is not. They make a fortune off shitty content and willingly pump sensational garbage to an addled audience, making htem a big part of the problem.
